Dear Students,

Engineering is a profession that internalizes scientific data and formulas, that uses the materials and energy in nature for the benefit of humanity through application and experience, and that demonstrates continuous productivity by developing ideas. Engineers, in turn, are people who analyze physical laws under the guidance of reason to provide technical solutions to the problems and needs of individuals and society, and who think and work using scientific methods. Since the Industrial Revolution, humanity has increasingly strived to develop various products that put what it has learned about nature to the benefit of humankind.

At Istanbul Topkapı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, our fundamental goal is to educate engineers who shape the future, embrace universal values and are blended with art. To this end, in our curricula we aim for graduates who can think creatively, analytically and critically, who are innovative, who possess social responsibility as well as an impartial perspective, team spirit and ethical values, who believe in lifelong learning, and who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of their nation and of humanity. In the final year of study, our students will put the theoretical and practical knowledge they have learned into practice within projects, bringing solutions to engineering problems they will encounter in real life. Thus, by closely following working life and the world’s problems, they will have the opportunity to produce solutions with the tools of their own disciplines.

In our faculty, we provide education in Computer Engineering (TR/EN), Software Engineering (TR), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (TR/EN), Informatics Engineering (TR) and Industrial Engineering (TR), with a strong academic staff and laboratories. The faculty members work with great dedication so that you graduate as successful engineers. Our instructors are experienced experts in their fields. In this way, they will convey theoretical and practical knowledge to you in the best possible way and enable you to acquire the skills needed for a successful career in your field.

Engineering education offers an important opportunity for students to develop their practical skills as well as their theoretical knowledge. To this end, project-based education allows students to find solutions to real-world problems and to use the tools necessary to solve these problems. The project-based education we provide at Istanbul Topkapı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences gives students vital skills such as problem solving, leadership, cooperation and communication, and these skills will play a very important role in students’ future careers.

Project-based education also helps our graduates adapt to the business world more easily. Having practical experience gives them a great advantage when being hired after graduation. Employers prefer graduates who have the skills necessary to solve real-world problems rather than merely possessing theoretical knowledge. Project-based education helps students acquire these skills and makes them more successful in business life.
